ITANAGAR, Sep 11: The Pakke Tiger Reserve management on Monday observed the National Forest Martyr Day by remembering the forest officials who had laid down their lives in protecting and conserving the flora and fauna of the country. 
Attending the function as chief guest Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (Wildlife & Biodiversity) N Tam, inaugurated the recently renovated Forester Memorial and paid homage to the forest martyrs of Pakke Tiger Reserve. The guests and the family members visited the martyrs rock to pay homage to the martyrs for their ultimate sacrifice and tireless effort in raising the bar of the tiger reserve. Tiger Reserve also showcased outdoor skills of the departmental sniffer dog named ‘Tracy’.
The forest department of Pakke Tiger Reserve organised a cultural program with the theme “Heroes of Pakke Tiger Reserve” and released a pamphlet on the same theme. The  Tiger Reserve management also felicitated the family members of the martyrs and offered sincere gratitude for their service in the forest department. 
Riba Dolo Pagia, son of late Apa Dolo, mentioned that his family is immensely proud of his father and his services to the forest department, though the loss of his head of the family member was a grave loss to the family and is irreparable.
At the end, a formal vote of thanks was given by Talo Dibo, Range Officer, Rilloh Wildlife Range.
Satyaprakash Singh IFS, DFO Pakke TR, Tana Tapi, the former DFO of PTR, T.R. Tapu, ADC Seijosa Circle, and family members of the martyrs attended among others.
