NAMSAI, Jul 18: Ahead of the inauguration of the block level orientation training programme on localisation of sustainable development goals (LSDGs), a coordination meeting of all stakeholders was conducted here at the DC's office.
Deputy Commissioner, Namsai expressed his gratitude towards the state institute of rural development (SIRD) for taking keen interest in imparting important information to the members of the District Level Core Committee on Localisation of Sustainable Development Goals. He said that the government of India has a vision of making India into a developed nation by 2047 and these activities are a roadmap to it. He urged the members of the committee to work for overall development of the district and its people.
The DC emphasised that inclusive development cannot be achieved if development at grassroot level is not targeted. He urged the Member Secretaries of all the panchayats to play a major role in studying the SDG goals and make a gap analysis in order for all the goals to saturate.
Dy.Dir SIRD, Dr. Sahu said that, Namsai district is like a laboratory for implementing new schemes and policies and is the epicentre of all interventions.
Emphasising the importance of convergence, he said that if planning of works to be executed can be done in convergence, then a great change of scenario can be achieved.
He explained about the mandate of DLCCLSDG and stated ways on rolling out clear cut picture of scheme mapping. He said that the activities under nine themes are to be carried out in a war footing manner in all the 116 GPs of Namsai district.
Stating that inclusive development starts at grassroot level, he said that the thought process of SDG should percolate to villages. He also talked about the green and clean intervention under SDG for carbon neutral panchayat. The importance of calendaring of activities under 9 themes, mandatory monitoring and evaluation of programs and chalking out different activities linked with panchayat for saturation of SDG were explained.
DPDO earlier welcomed all the members present and explained the objective of the meeting. He apprised all about the concept of District Level Core Committee on Localisation of Sustainable Development Goals (DLCCLSDG).
DPO cum Member Secretary, DLCCLSDG in his speech apprised that out of 184 indicators of SDG, 49 main indicators are under Aspirational District Program (ADP), hence "we have been constantly working to achieve these," he said.
He informed that as cost benefit analysis, while preparing DPRs for any developmental activities, the works are to be aligned to SDG indicators. He suggested for formation of GP wise committee for supervising and monitoring all the work to facilitate convergence at grassroot level. He further suggested for conducting 'Seva Aapke Dwars' in each panchayat based on the gap analysis done. He urged all to be well versed with the concept of SDG.
The meeting was attended by ADC Namsai, member secretaries and Heads of Offices.
