Namsai, Jun 26: The Department of Tourism, Namsai District held a crucial orientation meeting on safety and security for all accommodation facilities of Namsai district today bringing together representatives from various accommodation facilities, district administration, and police department.
The meeting, chaired by Deputy Commissioner, C R Khampa  focused on discussing strategies to enhance safety and security measures in tourist accommodations. 
DC Namsai emphasised on key topics which included CCTV surveillance, emergency response protocols, fire safety protocols, staff training and overall guest safety. He urged all the facilities to maintain cleanliness, segregate waste at source and reduce plastic usage. He further informed about the upcoming tourist development projects such as Borbeel project, Noi Dhamma, Mahabodhi Skill Development Centre at Nongtaw and also urged the facilities to engage the guests in adventure activities such as cycling to boost tourism appeal of the district.
The Superintendent of Police, Sangey Thinley emphasised the importance of adherence to guidelines and regulations by all accommodation facilities according to the govt directives issued. He highlighted the need to maintain proper guest records and informed the house that a hands-on-training on IVFRT (Immigration, Visa, Foreigners Registration and Tracking) shall soon be provided to all homestay facilities.
I/C District Tourism Officer, Dr Keshab Sarmah emphasized the need for proactive measures to prevent incidents and ensure prompt response in case of emergencies. He also informed the participants about various govt schemes such as DDSUY, UNNATI aimed at supporting tourism-related ventures.
Accommodation facility representatives pledged to implement enhanced safety protocols and work closely with authorities.
