ITANAGAR, Jul 30: The Global Tiger Day was observed at the Pakke Tiger Reserve on Saturday collectively by the three ranges of the tiger reserve-- Seijosa, Tippi and Rilloh Wildlife Range.
At Seijosa, a first of its kind 'Pakke-Nameri Joint Bike Rally' was flagged off by T.R Tapu, ADC Seijosa and Satyaprakash Singh, IFS, DFO of Pakke Tiger Reserve. The conservation rally was organised with participation of the staff from both Pakke Tiger Reserve (Arunachal Pradesh) and neighbouring Nameri Tiger Reserve (Assam) covering a distance of 65 kms along the fringe areas of both the Tiger Reserves in Arunachal Pradesh as well as in Assam. Creative art competition and literary competition was also conducted at Seijosa.
At Tippi, deliberation on importance of tiger conservation and an evening session on moth screening were conducted where students from nearby schools of Tippi & Bhalukpong actively participated.
At Rilloh, Pakke-Kessang an art & literary competition was organised for school children. Piglets were also distributed to the beneficiaries of fringe village dwellers as part of outreach activities.
