PASIGHAT, Sep 22: In display of grit, zeal and constant perseverance towards duty, Pasighat Police arrested murder accused one Suku Deo Gowala from Dimow Samjuli Village under Silapathar Police Station, Assam on September 20 night. The accused who had murdered his stepfather in a fit of rage was absconding and concealing himself from the police for the last two years.
East Siang SP Sumit Kumar Jha informed that two years ago the accused had come to meet his mother at Niglok Village, under Ruksin Sub-division, where his mother was remarried and staying with her second  husband Pulin Burman. The next evening after his arrival at Niglok, the accused had a verbal spat with his stepfather on some trivial issue during which he hacked his stepfather to death with a machete (dao) and finally beheaded him. After committing the crime, the accused had instantly fled away to Assam in the wee hours of the night.  A case vide RKN/PS/FIR/No. 12/2020, U/S 302 IPC was registered and Inspector Abraham Taying was investigating.

The accused had fled away to Assam had been constantly changing his location and concealing himself from Police. His mother who is the complainant in the case joined him later after selling and disposing off all the immovable properties, owned in the previous address. The accused in his effort to conceal himself had travelled to almost  entire parts of Assam disguised as a labour, which he revealed in his statement. A Non-bailable Warrant of arrest was also issued against the accused by the Court of CJM Pasighat which was endorsed to Assam Police but the warrants were returned as un-executed.
SP Jha further informed that a reliable input was received by the IO Taying and the matter was then liaised with SDPO Jonai, OC Silapathar and Incharge OP Dimow. To lead and execute the operation the IO Inspr. Abraham Taying along with Ct. Rengtu Rangai, Ct. Kaling Perme and Ct. Kaling Tayeng rushed to Assam on motorbikes in civil dresses and had entered the village as chicken buyers and even before the accused could realize the situation, he was gheraoed from all directions by police and arrested.
SP Pasighat Sumit Kr. Jha who was constantly monitoring and supervising the case has congratulated and appreciated the Police team for their dedication and bravery in the line of duty.
