Itanagar, Jun 30: State BJP President Kaling Moyong officially launched the book, The Emergency Diaries, Years That Forged a Leader, at the BJP State Office Itanagar today in the presence of program convenor Tarh Tarak and joined by his dedicated State Office Bearers.
This powerful memoir sheds light on one of the darkest chapters in India’s democratic history—the Emergency period from 1975 to 1977. It captures the courage and resilience of those who stood firm against authoritarianism, risking their lives to uphold the values of democracy.
During the event, Moyong and the State team discussed the book’s compelling account of a 25-year-old RSS Pracharak, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes—disguising himself, distributing pamphlets, and organizing support for the families of detained activists. These fearless actions played a crucial role in shaping the character and leadership of the young Pracharak who would go on to become the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.
Further, Moyong urged everyone, especially the youth, to read this remarkable memoir. “This book is not just a historical document—it is a tribute to the spirit of resistance, the power of conviction, and the unwavering courage that defines true leadership,” he said.
The Emergency Diaries serves as a poignant reminder of the price paid for freedom and the importance of safeguarding democratic values for future generations.
