PASIGHAT, Aug 22: The first ever Pasighat Cultural Hall, constructed at Gidii Notkko, Pasighat at an estimated cost of Rs. 150 lakhs was inaugurated by the Pasighat East MLA Kaling Moyong today in presence of DC Tayi Taggu, CC (PMC) Okiam Moyong Borang and President of Bogong Banggo Kebang, Oyem Dai.
“With opening of the cultural hall, Pasighat has obtained a place for celebration of own festivals, community gatherings, meetings, weddings etc. Two more convention halls were likely to be constructed shortly in Pasighat," the MLA informed soon after the inaugural program adding that Pasighat was a centurion town but had not received such facility in the past. 
He appreciated and congratulated those involved in making of the cultural hall. The city dwellers should take adequate care once any asset is created and extend help and cooperation as partner in developing Pasighat for better facilities and extend whole hearted supports towards the development of the city, Moyong added. The fund provision for the work has been made out of CCI 2019-20 and designed and executed by the Urban Development department with seating capacity to accommodated 1000 audience with a large and beautiful dais where a troupe of more than 70-80 artists could perform easily, briefed the MLA on the occasion.
Deputy Commissioner, Tayi Taggu in his brief address stated that Pasighat is known as Mini India for its cosmopolitan nature as lifestyle of its dwellers echoes the very fabric of India with people from almost all castes and religions coexisting in the same space in a state of harmony. Opening such cultural hall would help every community to celebrate their own festivals and preserve own cultural heritage, he said.
