NAHARLAGUN, Mar 2: In a significant spiritual and cultural engagement, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat visited the Donyi Polo Nyedar Namlo in Pachin Colony, Naharlagun today.
Situated along the tranquil Pachin River, the Namlo is a revered prayer center for the Nyishi and indigenous communities, dedicated to the worship of Donyi (Sun) and Polo (Moon)—sacred celestial deities symbolising light, truth, and cosmic harmony.
Dr. Bhagwat was given a warm and traditional welcome by the Namlo committee and local devotees, who expressed their deep appreciation for his visit. He participated in the prayer ceremony with humility and devotion, highlighting his respect for the indigenous spiritual traditions of Arunachal Pradesh.
During his visit, Dr. Bhagwat engaged in discussions with priests and devotees, acknowledging their commitment to preserving their rich heritage. He emphasized the importance of balancing cultural traditions with modern development, stressing that spiritual practices like those at the Namlo foster social unity and national integrity.
Dr. Bhagwat’s visit concluded with prayers for peace, prosperity, and well-being, leaving a profound impact on the devotees. His presence reaffirmed the significance of indigenous faiths in strengthening societal harmony and promoting a sense of cultural identity.
The visit marked the conclusion of Dr. Bhagwat’s four-day tour of Arunachal Pradesh, which also included a two-day RSS Karyakarta Shivir attended by participants from across the state.
