Ziro, Oct 3: The Modified Silencers Surrender Initiative Progamme, organised by the Ziro Royal Enfielders (ZRE) in collaboration with the District Administration, Lower Subansiri, was conducted today at the District Secretariat Complex, Hapoli.
The programme was held in the presence of SP Keni Bagra, SDO Rani Perme, AC Radhe Tatung, HoDs, officials and Police personnels, members of Ziro Royal Enfielders, and the general public.
Chief of ZRE, Nending Ommo, highlighted the functioning of ZRE and the objective of the initiative aimed at promoting responsible riding and reducing noise pollution.
Speaking on the occasion, SP Keni Bagra lauded the efforts of ZRE and urged all riders to “ride with peace and not with noise.” He further suggested collaboration with the District Police for traffic awareness programmes. Leading by example, the SP administered a pledge to ZRE members to drive responsibly and spread awareness on road discipline. In a symbolic step towards curbing noise pollution, the surrendered modified silencers were destroyed in front of the gathering by an excavator.
Among others, DMO Dr. Millo Kunya, TDO-cum-DIPRO in-charge Tai Arun and OC Traffic Hano Lailang were also present during the event.
The initiative also marked the 9th Foundation Day of Ziro Royal Enfielders MC, reflecting their commitment to community service and safe riding practices.
