Raga, Aug 1: Rotom Tebin, MLA of 24th Raga constituency, held a series of crucial meetings with senior officials from the Ministry of Power, and NHPC Ltd. to discuss the progress and strategic importance of key infrastructure and hydroelectric projects under Kamle district here on Friday. 
Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Power, MLA Tebin highlighted the critical role of the proposed Dollungmukh–Tamen Road in enhancing regional connectivity and facilitating the development of the 1720 MW Kamala Hydroelectric Project. He informed the Secretary that the road would serve as a vital link connecting NH-15 at Annando (Assam) to NH-13 at Tamen in Kamle district, significantly it will reduce project cost and improving easy access to the project site and surrounding regions.
Tebin submitted all relevant documents pertaining to the Tamen–Dollungmukh Road, collected from the State Government and NHPC, to the Secretary power, and urged for early approval and sanctioning of the project.
Subsequently, the MLA met with S. Bala Subramanian, Personal Secretary to the Ministry of Power, to review the latest progress of the Kamala and Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Projects. Detailed discussions were held on the strategic importance and the current status of both projects.
In his meeting with Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel), and S. Singh, Director (Projects), NHPC Ltd., held at Faridabad, Tebin engaged in detailed deliberations regarding both hydroelectric projects. He personally apprised the Uttam Lal, Director (Personal) NHPC Ltd. regarding the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives related to the both projects, and submitted all necessary documentation regarding CSR implementation.
He urged NHPC Ltd. to early expedite the commencement of the Kamala Hydroelectric Project, citing the enthusiastic support from the local community. Tebin emphasised that there is no resistance from affected people, and the local population is eagerly awaiting the project’s initiation, seeing it as a vital driver of regional development.
