Hollongi, Nov 15: As the countdown to the inauguration of the Donyi Polo Airport, Itanagar by Prime Minister Narendra Modi begins, MLA Tana Hali Tara and Deputy Commissioner Papum Pare, Sachin Rana jointly inspected the inaugural venue and later convened a meeting with all the officers of the District Administration and the Airports Authority of India officials. This comes a day after the Arunachal Cabinet led by CM Pema Khandu reviewed arrangements being made for the scheduled inauguration of the airport by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 19 next.
Issues pertaining to water supply, parking, security, internet connectivity were minutely discussed during the meeting which was attended by Superintendent of Police Papum Pare Nyelam Nega, AAI officials, admin officers and HoDs among others.
DC Sachin Rana informed that around 10,000 delegates including VIPs, students, cultural troupes, party workers and public are expected to attend the mega event.
“Since the program is slated to start by 9.30am all the delegates have to reach the venue by 8am to avoid delays while security frisking. The gates shall be opened at 6.30am for the public," he further informed while appealing all to cooperate with the administration and the security team.
Terming the event as a historical one local MLA Tana Hali Tara appealed to all the residents of Hollongi and nearby areas to cooperate with the police and the District Administration wherever required to ensure a successful inaugural program. He further appealed to the public to attend and witness the historic event in large numbers.
