ITANAGAR, Nov 5: Expressing resentment over the lackadaisical attitude of the state government on the Search & Rescue operation of missing Everester Tapi Mra and his assistant Niku Dao, the All Tagin Students’ Union (ATSU) has served a 7-days ultimatum while submitting a four  point representation to the Chief Minister.
Speaking to the media, President ATSU, Tadak Pakba stated  that the lackadaisical approach on the part of the authority concerned is quite apparent through the manner in which the rescue operation was carried out. "As of now, there is no official communication on the part of the state government as when to continue the rescue operation. Therefore we urge the Chief Minister to immediately constitute an expert rescue committee involving local mountaineers like Tagit Sorang to immediately resume the search mission," he said.
The Union has also urged the authority to immediately set up a high-level inquiry committee against Deputy Commissioner, East Kameng. "The ill-equipped rescue operation carried out by incumbent Deputy Commissioner P. Abhishek Polumatla (IAS) is extremely unsatisfactory and deplorable. In the entire search operation the incumbent Deputy Commissioner's attitude towards the aggrieved families was quite unpleasant. He failed in his duty to bring justice to the person who brought name and fame for the state," Pakba said.
Everyone is aware that the aggrieved families are on an indefinite sit-in protest at the Tennis Court, I.G Park, Itanagar. We urge the  CMO to immediately resolve the fiasco by  providing written assurance  to the satisfaction of the aggrieved families. The aggrieved families are likely to go on hunger strike if the government failed to respond to their genuine demand at the earliest, he added.
Meanwhile, ATSU added that they fear that the Chinese PLA may have abducted the mountaineers since Mount Khyari Satam falls under the Line of Actual Control (LAC). 
"We urge the CMO to talk with the central government through the Ministry of Defence to initiate communication with the Chinese counterpart.  All the equipment, including tents have been safely recovered but interesting both Mra and Dao are missing, so we have high apprehension that PLA might have abducted them,' added President ATSU.
