ITANAGAR, Oct 31: In the face of government non response, Yatuk Mra Nilo, sister of Everester Tapi Mra said that unless the state government brings back her brother and his aid Niku Dao dead or alive, the families begin a sit-in protest at IG Park,Itanagar.  
The families have demanded the state government to bring back the missing mountaineers dead or alive and also sought action against the East Kameng Deputy Commissioner for his alleged negligence in handling the first search and rescue operation.
Speaking to reporters today, Yatuk Mra Nilo said that she was eagerly waiting for a response from the CMO on her two-point appeal but unfortunately there was no communication from the office. Following this, she has sought permission from the DC office for a sit-in dharna.
She said the tents which were used by Mra and his aid during the expedition to mount Khyarisattam which were brought back by the 13-member search and rescue team from camp-II will be pitched at IG Park as a mark to protest against the state government for failure to address her two-point demand.
She also said the dharna was supposed to be organized at the office of the Director of Sports & Youth Affairs. However, the capital DC in his order stated that a designated area already exists for such protest, and also granting permission for the dharna in the office area would obstruct normal traffic and create a nuisance and breach of public peace.
“Now that, I am following the order of the DC, the dharna will be held at IG Park. Though I personally don’t feel the designated place proper to raise my concerns, I have no option but to follow the law of the land,” she said.
Two months ago, Mra and Dao reportedly went missing when they were on a mission to explore the snow-capped mount Khayarisattam in East Kameng district.
Later, the second 13-member search and rescue team headed by mountaineer Tagit Sorang found the belongings of the duo.
