SEPPA, Aug 6: The third search operation team for missing everester Tapi Mra and his assistant Niku Dao, who went missing in between base camp and the Kyarisatam peak in East Kameng District last year, left Veo for Sari Village on  Sunday on day two. 
Led by everester, Tagit Sorang, a team of nine including mountaineering experts and family members, have embarked on a quest to find the missing climbers.
Dosh Dasi, Secretary, HRD of  Tagin Cultural Society (TCS) informed that, on the third day, the team will leave Sari Village to reach Sari Top camp on Monday. On the 4th day, the team will reach Yorchum Camp in the evening which is the halfway mark of the 8-day foot march to base camp of Mt. Kyarisatam.
The search operation has been meticulously planned, and the team is steadfast in their determination to locate Tapi Mra and Niku Dao. They are supported by the government, district administration, and various authorities who have provided all necessary facilities and assistance to ensure a successful operation.
Dr. Sachin Rana (IAS) Deputy Commissioner East Kameng , Kamdam Sikom SP East Kameng, Ashok Tajo (EAC), Yomgam Marde (CO), and Dy.SP of East Kameng District were present on the day of flag off. The event was overseen and coordinated by the Tagin Cultural Society (TCS). During the ceremony, prayers were offered for the teams safety and success, and heartfelt wishes were extended to the search team.
The TCS  further added that, in case of any significant discovery, the team is prepared to handle the situation with utmost care and sensitivity. Special strategies have been devised for different scenarios, including unnatural deaths, and relevant authorities, family members, and other stakeholders have been consulted.
The search operation is expected to reach Camp-2 of mount Kyarisatam on August 16 next. The team will conduct thorough searches in areas where family members previously found belongings of Tapi Mra, approximately 500 meters from Camp-2, on August 17 next.
Further, the Tagin Cultural Society (TCS) expressed deep gratitude to the government for providing helicopter support, despite challenging weather conditions. They also requested the cooperation of the army authorities to facilitate the induction and drop of scientist Timothy Nima at the base camp, if weather conditions allow.
