ITANAGAR, Apr 11: Family members of missing Everester Tapi Mra and his assistant Niku Dao expressed resentment over the unproductive meetings with the state government and alleged that the government is misleading the family regarding the meeting resolution of November last year.
Speaking to the reporters after holding meeting with the state government representatives chaired by the Secretary Sports, Yatok Mra Nilo, the sister of the missing Everester stated that the family gave a powerpoint presentation regarding all the necessities for the search & rescue operation and other requirements as well as support extended by the government as of now. But, after the meeting the authorities failed to give any assurance on resuming the operation.
“We have categorically told the authorities that no more meetings will be held with the government and they should clear their views on the missing mountaineers," she said adding that 'the government will convene a meeting with the Tagin Cultural Society, so we will wait till Wednesday.'
Meanwhile, a family member of Niku Dao, lamented that the government has failed to fulfill its own written resolution. We were very positive that in today’s meeting, it will be fulfilled but as of now, nothing has been provided to the family members. The government has assured in written that on humanitarian grounds, they will provide financial assistance to Niku Dao's family but as of now there is no communication about the same.
