ITANAGAR, Mar 9: With no helps from the state government despite assurance, sister of missing Everester Tapi Mra left for Seppa, East Kameng with food supplies and equipment brought by her to engage workers for the construction of a foot track and rope bridge to reach Base camp of Mount Kyarisatam in East Kameng district on Thursday.
Speaking to this daily, Yatok Mra Nilo, sister of Tapi Mra lamented that despite assurance by the state government to help the family members in every possible form to find the missing Everester that too in written form on November 7 last, no assistance has been received yet.
"I have engaged more than 40  local peoples, their rations, protection gears and materials to construct footbridge on our own," informed Yatok. She added that the state government had assured to bear all the expenses even constructing foot track for the Search & Rescue team before the next expedition but till date nothing has been done from their side.
When asked, how she is managing everything and the financial requirements to buy all the equipment and engaging local people, Yatok divulged that she had to sell her local ornaments; Mithuns even mortgage plots of land to arrange funds.
This is the peak season to reach at least up to base camp and for that we have to clear roads, make foot tracks and rope-bridges. If not now then from next month Monsoon will start in our state, which may create more difficulties. So, to avoid any untoward incident we have decided to work on our own against all odds to find my missing brother, she said.
She also expressed resentment that no representative has dared to raise the issue of the first Everester of the state Tapi Mra , who went missing along with his assistant Niku Dao last year.
