SEPPA, Sep 2 : Due to inclement weather, helicopter Search & Rescue for Everester Tapi Mra and his assistant Niku Dao was called off for the day again. Four Army Helicopters are on standby to be deployed as and when weather permits.
In its press statement, while updating about ground Search & Rescue Operation team,  Incident Commander cum ADC-Chayangtajo, Rajib Chiduni informed that at Veo village, local porters informed that due to continuous rain, there is limited space ahead of Longchu for night halts and it would be difficult to move large contingents at one go.
 Hence the team of 34 Army Personnel & Mountaineers has been split into two groups — Group A comprising of 18 members and Group B comprising of 16 members.
Today Group A has moved to Longchu village successfully and Group B will make the move tomorrow. Due to continuous rain, foot march took more time than normal between Veo and Longchu, the ADC added.
Incident Commander also informed that, seven Executive Magistrates have been given duties to be stationed at different incident command posts on rotation basis.  Fifteen Auxiliary Labour Corps (ALCs) have been requisitioned from Pipu, Gawepurang and Seppa Circles to provide porters to the foot-based search and rescue operation.
