Itanagar, May 20: After much effort, the missing body of one Kusum Rai, 35, was recovered today.
Late Rai got swept away following a landslide on May 15 at Yagamso Colony which claimed the lives of other two members of her family.
The team of District Administration, Police, NDRF, SDRF, Corporator ward 10, volunteers, locals and others had collectively put their best effort in the search operation to retrieve the body.
The EAC Takam Nicholas informed that the search operation was difficult as despite engaging men and machineries, the swamp like condition of the approach road was posing difficulty in the search operation and accordingly 6 trucks of boulders were laid over swampy areas by Poclain to make the area feasible for machineries.
The DDMO Moromi Dodum Sonam informed that the body has been handed over to the family.
