ITANAGAR, May 24: Days after assailants barged into the office of the Director, Audit & Pension in broad daylight with an AK 56 assault rifle and grenade, in another daring criminal act, miscreants broke into the Punjab National Bank, located at Ganga, Itanagar through the window of the canteen during the wee hours on Wednesday.

The miscreants tampered with the Cash Deposit Machine (CDM) including the entrance to the vault.

‘As soon as we realised that something untoward had taken place in the bank premises, we called the police and lodged an FIR against unidentified person,’ informed Deputy Manager Bhawani Prasad Joshi.

Official sources informed that one person has been arrested in connection to the robbery attempt and interrogation is on to establish the whole episode and involvement of others in the crime.
