Itanagar, July 30: Minister (Urban Affairs, Land Management & Civil Aviation), Balo Raja took another round of meeting here at the Civil Secretariat with all its stakeholders for discussing the burning issue of traffic management in the capital as a follow-up to the last on held on 13th July last.  While welcoming the participants, Raja informed that the government  is very serious in its mission in providing a seamless traffic system in the Capital city as part of developing future ready twin capital cities as World-class one.  The Minister also pinpointed the necessity for having coordination among Highway division of PWD, UD, Town Planning, ULB, District Administration, Smart  City Development Agency & all its line departments for speedy implementation of various schemes and programs.  He further stated that results of the meetings should reflect on ground at the quickest possible time. 
Later, the Commissioner (UA & Transport) initiated point wise discussion with the latest status of action taken on each - based on the issues as reflected in the first meeting as well as based on the survey report of Police department after having field survey with other line departments.  It was also resolved that the completed parking lots at Ganga APST bus-stand as well as the one at ESS sector, near Civil Secretariat be made available to the public, up to 10 pm initially for free-of-cost for six vmonths to make them familiar with the system.  All the stakeholders should make necessary efforts to encourage the public for using the parking lots for the purpose by refraining from the present system of parking vehicles on the roadsides and at no-parking zones. 
Transport department would facilitate marking Zebra-crossing at the identified points and take measures for public awareness of do’s & don’ts through social media platforms and other medias at the quickest possible way.  DC, ICR has been authorized to take possession of the plot of lands of the cooperative society – situated at the rear side of main Post Office, Itanagar and the one located at Zero Point behind the KFC and hand them over to the UD for construction of automated multilayer parking lots immediately.  The house was unanimous on the issue related to preventing dumping of any construction materials on the roadsides and over the footpaths for ensuring seamless movement. 
Earlier, Techi Kasso, local MLA & Advisor to Minister(UA & LM) while taking part in the discussion  highlighted the need for ensuring adequate space on both sides of the roads including sector roads for free passage of vehicles and parking lots all along.  He therefore requested the DC, ICR to take needful steps to this effect.
