ZIRO, Jul 28:  The 3rd Bamin Tani Memorial Badminton Tournament pulled huge spectators when it got off to a colourful start here at Multi-purpose Indoor Stadium, Hapoli.

Altogether, 73 players from 12 different schools and 59 open participants including men and women are participating in the tournament, which will continue till July 30 next.

Players like Pinki Karki, Taring Yania who represented in international level and Akshay Raitho and many others who played at national level are also participating in the tournament. Their participation raised the level of the tournament and made the competition strong.

 While addressing the opening ceremony as chief guest, Superintendent of Police, Ziro, Bomge Kamduk while lauding the Alumni 2007-08 batch of GHSSZ extended best wishes to participants and urged them to play by the rules.

Speaking on the occasion, President, Lower Subansiri Badminton Association, Er Toko Ottu urged the organizing committee to continue the tournament in near future.
