YUPIA, Apr 6: District level coordination meeting of District Tobacco Control Cell along with review of key performance indicator (KPI) and PMJAY was held on Thursday at the DMO conference Hall Yupia under the chairmanship of ADC headquarters Tabang Bodung.
Bodung while giving his remark appreciated the achievements of the DTCC and directed all the members to actively participate in the anti-tobacco activities as everyone is a stakeholder in the programme. He advised all the MO I/Cs to work hand in hand with the administration for better implementation at the grassroot level.
Earlier welcoming the members, Dr. Komling Perme, DMO Yupia highlighted the NTCP and invited all the members to take ownership for the success of the programme as "medical department
alone will not be able to achieve the set goals."
He also briefed the gathering the overview of NTCP and strategies to improve the KPI in the district. All the MO i/c, DANO and HWO were instructed to verify actual PMJAY beneficiary, how many have migrated/died/untraceable within months’ time. Tai Arun TDO, Dr.R.R.Ronya DSO and Dr.N.Nitik DRCHO also spoke on the occasion.
DPO(NTCP) Dr. R. Rina Ronya presented a brief on the National Tobacco Control Programme, its aims and objectives and certain sections of the COTPA applicable in the district.
Dr.Ronya further highlighted the achievements of the DTCC in the last quarter.
The DPC(NCD) Debia Shanti spoke about the concept of Tobacco Free Education Institute(ToFEI) and steps to be initiated to make schools and institutions tobacco free
Taking part in the open discussion, the Trade Development Officer, Yupia Tai Arun shared the experience during the different raids conducted with the DTCC staff at different locations in the district and the loopholes found there were addressed.
Tadar Kappa , APO representing the DDSE Yupia invited the DTCC for a meeting with the Education department to improvise on the actions taken for the implementation of the ToFEI.
