ITANAGAR, Sep 5: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein who also holds the Power portfolio conducted a meeting with the officers of the Power and Hydropower departments here at the Conference Hall of DCM Secretariat on Thursday to discuss strategies to be taken up in relation to construction of transmission lines and distribution of power thereto.
Mein while reiterating that state government is focused on all around development of power sector by harnessing all forms of energy resources with particular emphasis on clean energy, underscored that for improving the overall power scenario, proper distribution of power backed by a sound transmission infrastructure holds immense importance for the state. He stressed on concerted efforts to be pursued to draw maximum power from the state’s own hydropower stations which will also help in renewable energy accreditation. Assuring full support for development of hydro-power in the state, DCM called upon the engineers of the Power and Hydropower departments to work in close coordination with team spirit and zeal so as to achieve optimal harnessing of the state’s hydro potential. 
Underscoring the importance of Kambang Small Hydropower Project (SHP), he directed the concerned officers to restore the dedicated 33KV line completely within a one and half month time frame and urged them to prepare estimates with utmost diligence for improving the transmission system. He also asked the engineers to submit estimate/DPR with due certification and prioritization after proper scrutiny at Chief Engineer level for onward submission to the CE within September 1 next. He added that the best and result-oriented proposal will be implemented in Phase I for the current year and based on its success, projection will be made in next year’s budget, reflecting the benefits achieved in terms of revenue collection. Engineers of both departments presented reports and statuses of generation & connectivity, requirement of transmission lines of hydel stations and other related issues. 
Among others, Commissioner Power G.S.Meena, Advisor to DCM Captain Anupam Tangu and Chief Engineers of Power and Hydropower departments were also present. DCM Media Cell
