PASIGHAT, Sep 10: In a meeting with EROs, AEROs, admin officers and representatives of political parties, the East Siang District Election Officer Tamiyo Tatak on Friday announced October 3 next as qualifying date for draft publication while filing of claims and objections would be entertained up to  October 23 next and final publication of electoral rolls would be done on January 5, 2018.

DEO Tatak further informed that the Election Commission of India (ECI) has directed to launch a comprehensive SVEEP (Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation) plan for Special Summary Revision of Electoral Roll.

Earlier, EAC (Election) Oli Perme while informing that the Election Department is exercising to register all the eligible voters who have attained the age of 18 years or above as on January 1, 2017, sought cooperation from all the political parties to make the campaign a success and appealed to identify and appoint BLAs for each polling booth for smooth conduct of the special campaign for roll revision process.
