Yupia, May 20: District Export Promotion Committee (DEPC) of Papum Pare under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Sachin Rana held a meeting here today to discuss on finalization of District Export Action Plan to develop the district into an ‘Export Hub’.
While speaking to the members of DEPC, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized upon identifying champion products of the district on the District Map so that at suitable locations Common Facility Centres can be established for the producers and he also suggested to collaborate with celebrities to promote local textiles and handicrafts.
Earlier, Trade Development Officer, Yupia, Tai Arun has briefed the house about formation of DEPC, its aims and objectives and the activities undertaken till date.
Five Progressive Farmers-Cum-Entrepreneurs namely, Tana Tada, Likha Chada, Nangram Kaha, Nara Loma and Ngurang Rajesh have been selected from Papum Pare District to attend the 5 Days Export Orientation Programme at Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), Kolkata from May 23-27.
