ITANAGAR, Mar 13: In view of the upcoming G20 summit, where representatives of various countries are scheduled to attend a meeting at Itanagar this month, Mayor Tamme Phassang chaired a meeting to review the preparedness of Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) here at its office on Monday.
Speaking to the media, the Mayor said It is a proud moment for us that representatives from various countries will visit Itanagar to attend the G20 meeting. So, we appeal to every citizen of the state to take responsibility to keep the city clean and green. IMC is doing its part, but it is the denizen who plays the major role, he added.
He further said the Corporation is associated with civic infrastructure improvement and beautification work. Several development activities have been planned for the summit for the visitors and foreign delegates.
While responding to the query on reports of dissidents amongst the corporators, Phassang stated that “ all is well in the IMC, there was some report of No confidence motion, but it was officially withdrawn. We are family and may have some differences of opinion about the system, that doesn’t mean we are against each other. Indeed, other corporators will join the preparedness for G20 summit, and I am also ready to work with them," Phassang said.
