ITANAGAR, Jun 17: Taking strong exception of the physical assault on a staff of Meat & Eat outlet here at Itanagar on Wednesday, a team of Itanagar Municipal Corporation(IMC) led by Mayor Tame Phassang and commissioner IMC Likha Tejji including corporators visited the outlet, and met the staff on Friday.
During the visit, Mayor interacted with staff and proprietor to know the ground realities of the incident.
Speaking to the media, Mayor informed that, though IMC didn’t receive any written complaints but taking cognizance of the incident, IMC held a meeting on the issue and decided to take up the issue to the highest leve.  ‘IMC always endorses for clean, green, and peaceful Itanagar, however, such incident brings bad image to society, and we won’t tolerate such lawlessness,' added Phassang while condemning the incident.
IMC being the license issuing authority as notified by the state government in 2015 as well as a constitutional body, it is our responsibility to look into such issues under its jurisdiction to maintain a peaceful environment for all, said Mayor Tame Phassang while assuring to confer justice to the victims.
Meanwhile, Officer In-charge, Police Station Itanagar, Phassang Simi who was also present on the occasion informed that at least eight people have been arrested so far who are involved in the case. All have been booked under relevant sections of IPC (inflicting grave injuries, trespass, threatening, and group attack), he added.
