PASIGHAT, Dec 11: The daily vegetable market in Pasighat was completely gutted in a massive fire accident that occurred on Tuesday night. Though the fire was doused by the Fire service team however most of the market sheds were burnt down to ashes.
The standing board comprising Olak Apang (Chairman), AEs (Electrical & PHED) OC (Fire), OC (PS) and DDMO visited the fire incident spot to make assessment of the losses caused due to the fire. The board met with all the affected businessmen who were mostly shopkeepers.
After thorough interrogation with eye witness it is presumed that the cause of the fire may be due to an electrical short circuit. As per preliminary report the board found that a total of 108 shops were burnt down. The victims were directed to submit their supportive documents for relief assistance from the government.
