Itanagar, Nov 13: The Manipuri community of the capital region today celebrated the 2nd Ningol Chakouba 2022 here today at Shikshak Bhavan, DNGC campus, Itanagar, organized by the Manipur Welfare Society of Arunachal Pradesh (MWSAP).
Er. Ng Manglemjao, President, MWSAP spoke on the importance of Ningol Chakouba – a bond of love and affection between sisters and brothers.
“The celebration of Ningol Chakouba had been delayed as some members were out of station or on-duty that’s why it is being celebrated today”, he stated.
Vijay Yumnam, General Secretary, MWSAP extended warm welcome to all the Ningols, invitees and guests present.
Prof. Ahongshangbam Ibotombi Singh, Patron, MWSAP spoke at length on the relevance of festival and its origins. He briefed about the program and its importance towards the unity and prosperity of Manipuris residing in Arunachal Pradesh.
The ceremony saw songs and dances presented by the Ningols and children. It was attended in large numbers by the Manipur community living in Arunachal Pradesh and personnel serving in various organizations in Arunachal Pradesh.
