BOMDILA/TENGA, Apr 13: A man was killed in election related violence in poll-bound Arunachal Pradesh on Friday late night. The incident took place at Khagok Village, West Kameng, where one Tenzin Libasow, 29 died after being stabbed.
Reports indicate that a fatal stab wound to the deceased left chest was inflicted during a brawl related to election activities. The altercation erupted near the 14th Labour Camp in Khagok village, within the 6-Thrizino-Buragaon Assembly Constituency of the West Kameng district, around 11:00 pm  Friday night.
As per the reports, an First Information Report (FIR) at the Rupa Police Station was lodged early Saturday morning. While the investigation is in its preliminary stages, progress is evident, with authorities narrowing down several suspects. Efforts are underway to apprehend those responsible for the tragic event.
In response to the escalating situation, the West Kameng District Administration has imposed Section 144 (CrPC) in the area. The official order cites concerns over the prevailing law and order situation within the 6-Thrizino-Buragaon Assembly Constituency, particularly in the Thrizino and Singchung Sub-Divisions.
Under the prohibitory order, assembly of four or more persons, carrying of lethal weapons, and public rallies or demonstrations are strictly prohibited in designated areas. Additionally, restrictions on the use of loudspeakers near hospitals or educational institutes and on vehicles with tinted or opaque glasses have been enforced.
