PASIGHAT, Jun 27:  Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu has asked to make East Siang the top performing district in all development sectors, while reviewing the performance of all government departments and executing agencies at the District level Monitoring Committee (DLMC) meeting today. The DC  also stressed that PRI members are the partners of development and it is imperative for departments  to work in close consultation with PRIs to achieve the  development targets for beneficiary schemes, agri & allied sector,  livelihood,  social sectors like education & health  and infrastructure schemes taken up in rural areas in particular and other projects in general.
ZPC Olen Rome also stressed on coordination with PRI members for monitoring of development works for result oriented development in grassroot level. ZPMs  Allen Tanning, Besing Tatin , Osu Borang,  Aruni Jamoh also put forward their suggestions and inputs  adding that PRI members with their understanding of ground realities at grassroot can contribute  in the development process for optimum result.  
During the meeting, the DC reviewed the progress of various Central Sponsored Schemes, State Plan Schemes,NEC , Smart City Projects,  National Health Mission (NHM) ,PMC schemes being implemented in the district. The DC asked the HoDS  for  quality and time bound completion and weekly updates of progress of ongoing schemes.
DDSE also urged the Panchayat leaders and all stakeholders to create awareness to acheive  100%  compulsory opening of bank accounts for school  students to avail  benefits  of Stipend, Vidya Scheme for Girl Child , Uniform , Midday meal , sanitary Napkins  through direct benefit transfer (DBT).
