NAHARLAGUN, Apr 29: In a decisive crackdown under Operation Dawn 2.0, Naharlagun Police, in coordination with Assam Police, arrested a major drug supplier in connection with Naharlagun Police Station Case No. 57/25 under sections 21(b)/27/29 of the NDPS Act.
The arrest took place on April 28 last, following critical leads obtained from the interrogation of two co-accused, Techi Lez and Tana Jamja, who were apprehended a day earlier. Acting swiftly on the disclosures, a team led by Inspector Krishnendu Dev, Officer-in-Charge of PS Naharlagun, launched a targeted raid at Brahmaputra Nagar near the riverbank in Dikrong, Assam.
The raid resulted in the arrest of Aamir Ali (39), a resident of Banderdewa, Assam. Police recovered 20 vials containing suspected heroin, weighing approximately 27.9 grams, from his possession.
The high-risk operation was executed with support from Assam Police and under the close supervision of SP Naharlagun Mihin Gambo and SDPO Naharlagun Rishi Longdo. Key personnel involved in the operation included SI Vivek Linggi, SI T Sarke, ASI I Ngomdir, HC K Mosi, HC L Tsering, Ct D Borah, HC P Tari, Ct R Kalung, Ct T Dawa, Ct Sanu T Raj, Ct T Pertin, and Ct H Tamin.
