LIKABALI, May 30: The Bisonbill Offroaders Club, Likabali successfully concluded the "Summer Rally - Siji River 4x4 Wild Ride 2025", held from May 27-29 at Siji, Lower Siang District.
This first-ever motorsport and cultural rally in the region drew enthusiasts, explorers, and communities from across the Northeast, and marked a transformative moment for Siji - a newly created district headquarters that is still in its developmental stage. The rally was an effort to put Siji on the map, showcasing not only its raw natural beauty but also its potential as a hub of eco-adventure, cultural pride, and youth energy. The event brought together participants and supporters from Ziro, Itanagar, LepaRada, Pasighat, West Siang, and Guwahati, creating bonds over shared adventure.
The three-day event featured a rugged 3-stage off-road challenge that tested 17 teams on endurance, navigation, and teamwork through jungle trails, slippery riverbeds, steep ascents, and raw natural terrain.
Punyo Loda (Pilot) & Hage Tachang (Co-pilot) of Ziro emerged as the champions.
Jaong Gam Mirip Singpho & Jawjun Mirip of Namsai bagged the 1st runners up; Naku Hage Chada & Paritosh Barman of Ziro were the 2nd runners up. The Best Sportsmanship title went to Nini Dupak & Kiogi Gida Gagung of Pasighat while the Most Disciplined team went to Shyama Kanu Borah & Naanmoni Bharali of Guwahati.
The event was an effort to showcase Siji, the new district headquarters, to the world, as the team believes it has potential to become a leading eco-adventure destination. Evenings were alive with music, tribal dance, food, and storytelling enthralling participants.
The true heart and soul of this event was Jumnya John Dini, Managing Director of the Summer Rally 2025. His vision turned a simple off-road event into a platform for transformation, awareness, and regional identity.
"This rally was more than just an off-road competition. It was a mission, a movement, and a message. We chose Siji to tell the world that this region matters, that it's alive with potential. Beyond the tracks, we created a platform that promotes youth empowerment, drug awareness, and community pride,” he said.
