ITANAGAR, May 7:The 1st phase of the Maa Tujhe Salaam Yatra, organized by Arunachal Pradesh Youth Congress (APYC), to commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister late Indira Gandhi concluded today.

The yatra which was flagged off by APCC president Takam Sanjoy on May 1 last, started from Itanagar and culminated at Geku, covering 7 districts—Papum pare, Lower Subansiri, Upper Subansiri, West Siang, Siang, East Siang and culminated at Upper Siang.

Addressing fellow District Youth Congress and Assembly Youth Congress members at 7 districts, President APYC Jikke Tako, highlighted the achievements and contribution of Indira Gandhi for developing India and specially her determination to establish Arunachal Pradesh, and asked the youth leaders to follow the late leaders ideology and cultivate patience and discipline.

‘Congress is a victim of political conspiracy and though we are facing difficulties but we never learned to quit. Congress has long history of ruling governments, we need to remind people of the Congress’ contribution towards nation building, particularly Arunachal,’ he said adding that the BJP government is a ‘marketing government and its ideology doesn’t match with our tribal society.’    

Addressing the gatherings, Indrani Mishra, General Secretary, IYC I/c: APYC highlighted about the contributions of Indira Gandhi for development of the nation and particularly Arunachal Pradesh.
