ZIRO, Apr 22:  Lower Subansiri police on Wednesday arrested one more drug peddler from Old Ziro, the second within a week as part of its ongoing efforts to curb the menace of drugs in the district.
Acting on an information input from reliable sources regarding the presence of a drug peddler in Dutta village, Old Ziro, Assistant Sub Inspector Tadu That and his team raided the house of one Koj Omo (35) and seized a large quantity of cannabis weighing 260 gm, 53 empty plastic tubes and a cash amount of Rs.41,000 from his bedroom. A case has been registered at Ziro PS under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act. Commending the efforts of the district police led by SP Harsh Indora, Deputy Commissioner Somcha Lowang reiterated that culprits will be dealt with strictly as per law. 
She has also appealed to the civil societies, NGOs and common people to launch a movement against drugs to save the youths falling prey to the menace. DIPRO
