Ziro, Nov 26: The Lower Subansiri district administration today observed Constitution Day by organizing a mass recitation of the Preamble of the Constitution of India at the Central Lobby of the District Secretariat Building, Ziro.
Deputy Commissioner Oli Perme led the solemn recitation, reaffirming the district’s commitment to the ideals and values enshrined in the Constitution. Superintendent of Police Keni Bagra, Heads of Departments, office staff and members of the general public actively participated in the event.
Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas, is celebrated across the nation on 26th November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. The Constituent Assembly adopted the Constitution on 26thNovember 1949, and it came into effect on 26th January 1950.
The observance of Constitution Day was formally introduced following the notification issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment on 19th November 2015, marking the Government of India’s decision to celebrate the day annually to promote constitutional values among citizens.
The district administration reiterated the importance of upholding constitutional duties and fostering awareness about the guiding principles of the nation.
