Deomali, Jul 26: In a momentous occasion held at Ramakrishna Mission Narottam Nagar, Srimat Swami Suhitananda Maharaj, Vice President of the worldwide Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, and Minister for Geology, Mining and Minerals and DoTCL, Wangki Lowang, jointly inaugurated the Vidya Dwar, a newly constructed decorative archway in the institution campus.
The intricately designed arch, named Vidya Dwar or the "Gateway to Knowledge", adds to the already rich aesthetic and spiritual appeal of the Narottam Nagar campus, which has over the years emerged as a serene and inspiring place of learning and pilgrimage. Alongside the existing statues, gardens, and symbolic archways that draw both spiritual seekers and tourists alike, this new addition has further enhanced the visual grandeur of the Mission.
Addressing the gathering at the inaugural event, Wangki Lowang lauded the efforts of Ramakrishna Mission in nurturing values-based education in the tribal belts of Arunachal Pradesh. He highlighted the importance of preserving the pristine beauty of the campus and urged students to make meaningful use of the educational and cultural infrastructure. He encouraged them to pursue academic excellence while staying grounded in humility, discipline, and service.
Swami Suhitananda Maharaj, in his spiritual message, elaborated on the concepts of Para Vidya (spiritual or higher knowledge) and Apara Vidya (worldly or secular knowledge), stressing that both are essential for a balanced and meaningful life. He said that true education must nurture not only the intellect but also the heart.
The occasion also marked the commencement of a day-long Youth Convention at Vivekananda Sabhagriha within the campus. The convention saw the enthusiastic participation of over 250 young individuals from across the Tirap and Longding districts. The theme revolved around youth empowerment, cultural identity, and nation-building.
The day’s programme featured a wide array of activities including thought-provoking paper presentations, panel discussions, interactive sessions, and cultural performances by students. These activities provided a dynamic platform for the youth to express their ideas, creativity, and commitment to society.
In the inaugural session of the convention, Wangki Lowang underscored the vital role youth play in shaping the future of the nation. Citing his personal experiences from different parts of India, he jovially yet meaningfully emphasized the importance of cleanliness, punctuality, and humility in personal development and national progress.
Swami Suhitananda Maharaj, while addressing the youth, emphasized teamwork, unity, and shared responsibility. Through a symbolic anecdote, he remarked, “Even though 1 + 1 equals 2 in mathematics, in the realm of cooperation and harmony, it can become 4. When two people unite with sincerity and devotion, the outcome is magnified.” He encouraged the participants to develop patience, perseverance, and inner strength.
The presence of distinguished speakers from different parts of India, combined with the enthusiastic involvement of local youth, made the event a grand success. The convention left the young minds inspired, enlightened, and empowered to walk the path of service, learning, and national progress.
