Itanagar, Jan 21: The Ministry of Mines, in collaboration with the Odisha government hosted the 3rd National Mining Ministers' Conference at Konark in Puri district, which brought together mines ministers from various states, senior government officials, and stakeholders to discuss critical mining sector strategies. Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy presided over the conference while Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi graced the inaugural session as the chief guest.
During the event, the Union Minister engaged in deliberations on fostering collaboration to ensure efficient, safe, and eco-friendly mining operations nationwide.
Key highlights of the conference included the release of a report on states' best practices in mining, the launch of the Mining Tenement System (MTS) Module, and the handing over of sanction letters to startups promoting innovation in sustainable mining practices.
Arunachal Pradesh Minister (Geology & Mining), Wangki Lowang, addressed the occasion and expressed heartfelt gratitude to Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy for promptly auctioning four critical minerals in respect of Arunachal Pradesh. He briefed about the potential of mineral resources in Arunachal Pradesh and informed that the state has graphite, vanadium, coal, limestone, gold, and even copper deposits. He requested the Union Minister to extend support & cooperation for development of mining sector in Arunachal Pradesh.
