TEZU, Aug 5: The Lohit District Administration, organized a mega plantation event on oil-palm under National Mission on edible oils- oil Palm (NMEO-OP) at Tafragam, Tezu today.
The DAO sensitized the public about the objectives of NMEO-OP and discussed how it can reduce the burden of edible oil imports.
Tezu ZPM, Balong Tindya said that NMEO-OP is a right step for the upliftment of the farmers and the entire country. He thanked the government for implementing it and also taking special care of farmer’s upliftment. He further exhorted the farmers to join hands in making India a self-reliant nation by meeting the growing demands of edible oil in the country.
While addressing the gathering,  Kamleshwar Rao S, IAS,  encouraged the farmers to avail all the benefits under NMEO-OP and asked them directly address their issues to  concerned authorities without any hesitation. He urged the agriculture department to make it a revolutionary movement in mission mode so that the goals can be achieved.
