TEZU, Aug 2: The Deputy Commissioner Lohit, Shashvat Saurabh, chaired a coordination meeting today ahead of the launch of the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign from August 9 to 15, to commemorate the concluding ceremony of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava' and to venerate the veers for their sacrifices for the greater cause of the nation.
The DC explained about the objective of the meeting and passed necessary direction to the program coordinator of concerned circles to ensure coordination with all the concerned departments, ZPMs, GPCs and HGBs/GBs for successful commemoration of the said campaign.
Taking the advantage of the meeting, the chairman urged pro-active participation from all the village heads and stakeholders to curb the menace of opium cultivation and drug abuse in the district as well as effective implementation of all the ongoing developmental activities.
Addressing the issue of government  land encroachment, the DC urged all to desist from illegal encroachment of public property.
He stressed on the effective implementation of SBM (G) and requested the PRI members to convene Gram Sabha meeting from time to time to find out the requirement of IHHL and Urinal/latrine in the schools and Anganwadi centres for healthy atmosphere as well as declaration of ODF plus.
ZPC Lohit, ZPM Tezu, ZPM Sunpura, SP Lohit, Assistant Commissioner, SDO Wakro, DPDO cum PD Lohit, EAC Sunpura, EAC Tezu, Head of offices, GPCs, GPMs, HGBs, GBs and officials of line departments attended the meeting.
