PASIGHAT, Aug 30: In a heart-warming display of unity and camaraderie Indian Army soldiers stationed at Sigar Military Station, East Siang district today celebrated Raksha Bandhan with the local community. The event organised at Sigar military station, highlighted the deep bond and trust between the armed forces and the residents of the district.
Local women of various colleges lovingly tied rakhis around the wrist of the soldiers who in turn expressed their gratitude by offering sweets to their sisters. The soldiers who consider the locals as their extended family embraced this opportunity to foster even stronger ties. 
DIPRO, Paaksha Bandhan, also known as Rakhi or Rakri, is a joyous festival celebrated by Hindus worldwide to honor the bond of love and responsibility between brothers and sisters. However, the significance of this holiday goes beyond biological relationships, as it brings together people of all genders, religions, and ethnic backgrounds to celebrate the occasion.Deomali Administrative Sub - Division also celebrated the Raksha Bandhan in collaboration with Vivekanda Kendra Arun Jyoti Deomali Unit, AVBP, Arunachal Vikas Parishad, Mothers Group Association, Various SHGs (under ARSRLM), Balwadi Teachers (VKAJ  karyakartas) with Army and Police personnel in their respective camps.
