ITANAGAR, Sep 28: A review-cum-coordination meeting of the Enforcement Officers of the Department of Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs was held on Tuesday under the Chairmanship of the Administrative Secretary of the Department of Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs.
Welcoming the Secretary, the Controller (LM&CA), Hoktum Ori, expressed his satisfaction for achieving the revenue target as fixed by the government especially the East Siang & West Siang Inspectorates for collecting surplus revenue every year continuously. He also stated that the Department is facing shortage of manpower, vehicle for the Enforcement Officers and also limited fund provisions but still officers are trying hard to achieve the revenue target.
The Secretary (LM&CA) Opak Gao, in his key note address, requested all the Field Enforcement Officers to work hard and to achieve the revenue target once it has been fixed by the Government.
Appreciating the revenue target achieved by the East Siang and West Siang Inspectorate, he also appealed the same from the other Inspectorates. He also emphasised on timely disposal of consumer cases stating that he has received complaints and time bound queries from the Government of India.
For disposal of pending consumer cases and other enforcement activities of the department, he suggested for co-ordination with the District administration.
