Raga, Mar 11: A fortnight long Livelihood and Enterprise Development Programme (LEDP) on Tailoring and Embroidery for 30 Self Help Group members concluded today at Raga, in Kamle District.
The programme was supported by NABARD, Arunachal Pradesh Regional Office, Itanagar and implemented by Arunachal Vikas Ebum Shiksha Sangataan (AVES). The valedictory cum certificate distribution function was graced by District Development Manager (DDM), Mewang Lowang in presence of BDO, Raga, ADO, Raga and 30 odd trainees/SHG members of Pei Ann Nyame SHG. Joint Secretary (Project) AVES, Raju Murtem, deliberated on successful completion of the training programme as the project implementing agency and representative of the AVES at Raga in Kamle district.
DDM, NABARD while addressing the trainees said that, NABARD has been continuously making efforts in creating and enabling environment for promotion of livelihoods of the rural poor. Also, addressing the issues of lack of vocational skills in taking up income generating activities, setting up and managing successful enterprises for income generation and livelihood, through implementation of skill development and capacity building programmes, like Micro Enterprise Development Programme (MEDP) and LEDPs.
For this training programme, NABARD had supported the cost of Critical Common Facility in the form of 15 Tailoring Machine and Interlock Machine besides other training materials to the Pei Ann Nyame SHG members. The trainees were encouraged to take up job of a “Self Employed Tailor”, by availing bank credit under schemes like MUDRA loan. Certificate of training were handed over to the trainees.
