BORDUMSA, Jun 24: The leopard that injured at least five villagers in Kherem Kachari under Bordumsa circle was captured on the intervening night of June 23 last.
Speaking to the media, ADC Bordumsa  Oling Lego informed that the  leopard was creating fear psychosis since last one week in the area and had attacked domestic animals and also injured many villagers.
With the help of  Forest official, the rescue team laid the trap to capture the leopard as tranquilizer was not available with the forest department. On the intervening night of June 23, the animal was captured in the trap.
Further, DFO Jairampur Forest Division informed that the leopard will be given some treatment at Miao Zoo and later released deep inside the Namdapha National Park.
Meanwhile, expressing gratitude to the Forest team and administration, Gaon Bura- Kherem Kachari also urged the authority to provide compensation to the victims for their losses as per government norms.
