Roing, Mar 31:  The Lower Dibang Valley district administration held the 1st edition of a Career Counselling Fair today at the Government Secondary School, Roing. Around 950 students from various schools of the area participated in the event that was attended by MLA(Dambuk) Gum Tayeng, MLA(Roing) Mutchu Mithi, ZPC Obang  Ngupok, Deputy Commissioner Soumya Saurabh, ZPMs and heads of departments, teachers and parents.
MLA Gum Tayeng termed it a beneficial programme for the students and said that knowledge on different careers is important in today's competitive world, for the students to go forward. We were never given this advantage and the permission to study, so don’t miss this opportunity, study hard and achieve your aims, she advised the students.
MLA Mutchu Mithi, addressing the students, stated that if a student is educated then the nation will prosper and so advised the students to take full advantage of the programme. He was appreciative of the efforts of the DA to guide the students and added that the true value of the programme would be felt only in the future when students looked back and remembered the guidance provided to them. 
He also stated that one's greatest enemy was oneself and asked the student to stop hesitating and holding themselves back and work towards their dreams and fulfill their aspirations. 
DC Soumya Saurabh stressed on the need for career guidance and career counselling sessions for students and hoped for a successful outcome of the programme. 
The day saw career counselling sessions on Archaeology, Journalism, Civil Services etc.
