Roing, Jun 20: A mock exercise on flood scenario was conducted at Bomjir today, on the right bank of the Dibang river. The District Disaster Management
Authority (DDMA) Lower Dibang Valley conducted the exercise in collaboration with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Itanagar to check the preparedness of the Incident Response Teams(IRTs) of the district.
Apart from IRTs, officials and workers of Sekura Road Ltd., Dibang Infra Project Ltd. and a few villagers also participate in the mock exercise.
The rains, foggy conditions and turbulent and rising water levels of the Dibang river provided the right conditions to test the response of the different teams put in place.
During the debriefing, ADC Mamta Yadav stressed on the need for a smooth and seamless flow of information and open communication lines. She also advised all to be prompt and have meticulous thinking while dealing with any kind of situations.
