ITANAGAR, Dec 26: The Arunachal Law Student Union (ALSU) has served a 15-day ultimatum to the state government to address their 3-point demand, failing which the union has threatened to call a state-wide bandh.
The union demanded immediate inquiry over the breach of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) strong room, the establishment of a fast-track court, and the cancellation of advertisement for the post of Assistant Professor (Law College, Jote).
Addressing the media persons at the press club here today, ALSU Vice President (Protocol) Teli Naga said the union had earlier lodged an FIR in the SIC in connection to the breach of the APPSC strong room. However, the state government as well as the SIC has failed to respond to the FIR.
He said the state government should also immediately establish a fast-track court for speedy trial of any scandals related to the APPSC.
The ALSU also said that there is a series of anomalies in the examination for the post of Assistant Professor for the Jarbom Gamlin Law College conducted by the Commission in regards to the upper age limit.
Naga said the APPSC violated by re-notifying the upper age limit of APST from 32 years relaxation to 35 years and changing it to 37 years with 5 years relaxation for the candidates. Therefore, the commission should cancel the notification issued by the Administrative Reforms (AR) Deputy Secretary on July 16, 2018, he said.
“The notification issued by the commission in regards to the upper age limit is unjustified and discriminatory in nature. Therefore, ALSU demanded the state government on the action taken report from SIC (VIG), and the progress report within 10 days, which they failed,” he said.
As the state government has failed to address the demands, the union has again submitted a reminder cum ultimatum to the state government so that it is responded to within 15 days.
“The issue relating to the APPSC paper leakage doesn’t confine just to any students organization but is a matter of concern for the future of the state and its people. Therefore, ALSU also supports the 12-hour bandh called by ANSU and will participate openly,” he added.
Naga said the union today submitted a reminder cum ultimatum to the state government demanding immediate endorsement of ED for the seizure of properties of all the accused involved in the case, cancellation of notification issued by Administrative Reforms (AR) Deputy Secretary on July 16, 2018, suspension of all upcoming examination and transfer of SP Fire & Emergency Service.
