ITANAGAR, Nov 2: In the wake of the massive free incident at Naharlagun daily market which razed more than 700 shops and eft many homeless,  the Arunachal Law Students Union (ALSU)  today submitted a five point memorandum to the Home Minister.
Speaking to reporters at the press club today, Vice President(Protocol) ALSU cum Issue Chairman, Advocate Teli Naga said that the fire incident at the daily market is one of the most unfortunate incidents where more than 700 shops were burnt to ashes barely a few metres from the fire station. 
“There must be a lacuna, and we suspect that there must be some conspiracy that needs to be unearthed,"  stated Naga while adding that team ALSU also met the Home Minister and apprised him about the whole incident.
ALSU  is demanding  immediate transfer of Superintendent of Police, Fire & Emergency Services, Itanagar.  "It is an undeniable fact that due to the lack of proper management & coordination among the firemen under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police Fire & Emergency Services, Itanagar, the fire couldn't be controlled and thus, led to the total destruction of the bazaar and huge properties," he said.
Immediate suspension of the personnel and  disciplinary proceeding for dereliction of duty, free and fair investigation in regard to FIR lodged on October 26 last by ALSU, constituting High-Level Enquiry Committee headed by a senior IAS/IPS officer, to unearth the truth behind the fire incident are our demands, he added.
Meanwhile, the union also demanded immediate compensation to the fire victims. "It is apparent that the poor vendors have lost their entire livelihoods including their hard-earned savings and investment in the fire accident. They should be duly compensated for their unfortunate loss,' added  Naga.
