ITANAGAR, Sep 3: The All Arunachal Pradesh Youth Organization (AAPYO), in collaboration with the Bazar Welfare Society, Naharlagun, today staged a bike rally from Nirjuli to the Tennis Court in Itanagar, demanding immediate government intervention into alleged large-scale irregularities in the ongoing NH-415 Package-B project.
Kipa Kanam,President of All Arunachal Pradesh Youth Organisation (AAPYO)  has pressed for the dismantling of 18 piers allegedly built with sub-standard TMT bars and girders using 43-grade cement, insisting that each pier undergo an Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity (UPV) test to verify safety standards. The group has further sought compensation for Naharlagun traders, citing heavy financial losses caused by prolonged project delays.
Among its major demands, the organization called for the mandatory signing of a tripartite integrity pact for projects above `10 crore, the blacklisting of contractor firm Ms. Woodhill Shivam (JV), and the suspension of officials responsible for the faulty execution of Package-B.
The protesters highlighted several grievances, including poor-quality construction of 18 piers, Lack of durable roads and flyovers, Inadequate drainage leading to repeated flooding, Absence of footpaths for pedestrians and schoolchildren, Lack of financial transparency in project expenditure.
AAPYO leaders further asserted that the rally was not merely a protest but a wake-up call to the government to uphold accountability, ensure quality infrastructure, and protect public interest in Arunachal Pradesh’s flagship road project.
