TAWANG, Mar 3: A day-long training programme jointly organized by Circle Administration, Kyidphel and Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Tawang was conducted today in Kyidphel with the aim of boosting the farming sector of the area, also known as the agricultural hub of Tawang district owing to its superior soil fertility and favourable climatic conditions. 
The training was designed to address the recurring issues faced by farmers such as pest infestation in seeds of local variety resulting in poor farm output. SMS, Plant Protection Laxmi Priya Borah gave hands-on demonstration on the ideal methods of soil and seed treatment and SMS Horticulture Ashwani Kumar Tiwari explained the causes of wilt and highlighted the ways for its prevention. Senior Scientist-cum-Head, KVK, Tawang Dr Anjan Nath Tripathy distributed vegetable seeds and bio-pesticides to the farmers including those from villages selected under Agri-Horti Cluster Farming.
